Two student athletes are recovering after the truck they were driving in rolled down an embankment.

Firefighters say it happened just north of Graciosa Road in Lompoc around 12:20 p.m. Friday.

Lompoc High School baseball player Kyle Martin was thrown from the vehicle and had moderate injuries.

Lucas Martin had to be extricated from the truck, which fire crews say took about 40 minutes.

He was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
