Los Padres Bank branches re-opened today as part of the Pacific Western Bank network.

Pacific Western Vank acquired Los Padres Bank from the F.D.I.C. The feds took over the Solvang-based bank on Friday. Los Padres had operated nine branches along the Central Coast before going under. Customers at both banks should continue using their existing branches until pacific western can fully integrate the new Los Padres branches into their system.

"Unlike a big bank company, I'm just another number. Here, they all know me by name. I know all of them by name. They know my family," said Jeremy Wirth of Santa Maria.

Once the transition is completed, all customers will have access to 79 California branches. Those stretch from San Diego to San Luis Obispo County.
