Four swimmers and three relay teams out of the Los Padres Leagues placed in the top 17 at the CIF Division 3 Swimming Championships on Thursday in Riverside.
Nipomo High's Austin Simpson had the best finish of 9th place in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.21.
Santa Ynez High's Eric Illes finished 14th in the 100 yard freestyle final with a time of 49.63 seconds. The Pirates' Thomas Huddle came in 15th in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.86.
Cabrillo's Samantha Carroll placed 17th in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:06.30.
The Santa Ynez boys came in 10th in the 200 medley relay at 1:43.64 before placing 14th in the 400 free relay at 3:24.8.
The Templeton girls finished 14th in the 200 yard free relay at 1:47.49.
Earlier in the week, Morro Bay's Will Murtha finished 5th in the boys diving competition with 312.05 points. Nipomo's Dylan Perry came in 7th at 252.4, Zac Miller finished 8th and Jimi Hayes came in 9th.
Santa Ynez High's Ana Everhart placed 15th in the girls diving final. Morro Bay's Brooke Molnar came in 16th and Nipomo's Shelly Dana came in 22nd.
Pac 7 League schools have swimmers competing in the Division 2 Finals on Saturday. Mission Prep and Orcutt swimmers compete in the Division 4 finals on Friday.
