Low intesity vs. high intensity workouts

Long periods of low intensity exercise may have more health benefits than shorter, intense workouts.

Researchers from the Netherlands assigned a group of young adults to do no exercise, only one hour of intense exercise, or several hours of walking and standing each day.

Although the vigorous and low intensity exercise groups burned the same amount of calories, the low intensity group had significantly better cholesterol and insulin levels.
