After missing the previous two matches, Paige Waymire returned to spark the Nipomo High girls volleyball team in the Titans' 3-0 sweep over six-time defending Los Padres League champion Santa Ynez on Tuesday.
The Titans won 25-15, 25-16 and 25-14 to improve to 6-1 in LPL matches and 12-1 overall. Nipomo stayed one game behind undefeated Templeton in the standings. The Eagles swept visiting Lompoc on Tuesday.
Waymire led the Titans with 22 kills to go along with 2 aces. Cristina Ozzimo dished out 34 assists and had 2 aces. Kiana Worth fired off 9 aces and recorded 5 kills, while Taylor Nevitt had 5 kills, 12 digs and 4 aces to help the Titans sweep the season series with Santa Ynez. Sarah Stahl led the Titans with 24 digs.
The Pirates dropped to 4-3 in league play and 12-10 overall.
Carly Roth led the Templeton girls with 10 kills, while Mari Stewart tallied 8 kills and 7 aces. Autumn Russell recorded 9 kills and Sydney Roth had 24 assists, 8 aces and 3 kills. Templeton improved to 7-0 in league and 10-1 overall.
