New regulations require school cafeterias to offer healthier choices, but we all know you can't make kids actually eat them!

A new study found simple, inexpensive changes to cafeterias influenced students to pick more nutritious options when going through the lunch line.

Researchers called it the "Smarter Lunchroom Makeover", which made fruits and vegetables appear more attractive, easier to reach, and encouraged cafeteria staff to verbally offer these foods.

When these changes were made in two schools, students were 13% more likely to take fruits and 23% more likely to take vegetables, and more kids finished their whole serving.
