After leading the Arroyo Grande High girls basketball team to its first-ever CIF title, Dwight MacDonald is stepping down as varsity head coach.
MacDonald will stay on as the school's Athletic Director. MacDonald said it was difficult to balance two full time jobs, athletic director and head coach, and spend time with his wife and two children.
MacDonald thank the coaching staff, community, booster, administrators and students for their support.
MacDonald served as the head coach the last three years. He guided the Eagles to two PAC 7 League titles and an overall record of 68-19.
This past season, the Eagles went 27-6 and undefeated in league play. Arroyo Grande captured its first-ever CIF-Southern Section title and State Tournament berth.
A search for a new head coach is underway.
