(WBBH) He may be 75-years-old, but Francisco Garcia wasn't afraid to grab his machete and fight off a burglar who was breaking into his Lehigh Acres, Florida home.

Garcia says he grabbed his machete when he heard a crook trying to get into his house.

The burglar first tried knocking on the front door and when Garcia didn't open it - deputies say he kicked it in.

At that point, the great-grandfather ran to get his machete and confronted the suspect.

"I told him get the [expletive deleted] out of here," he explained.

Lee County deputies say Kevin Dumas even tried to hit Garcia with his getaway car as he took off.

But Garcia got the last laugh. He was able to get a tag number and deputies caught up with Dumas nearby.

He's facing felony charges for aggravated assault and burglary.
