Three girls basketball players from CIF Southern Section champion teams have received All-State honors. Cal-Hi Sports, the popular prep sports website, issued its 32nd Annual All-State Girls Basketball teams.
Arroyo Grande High's Heather Madrigal was named to the Third Team for Division III. Madrigal transferred to AG High for her senior year after three successful years at St. Joseph. Madrigal helped guide the Eagles to their first-ever CIF title and State Tournament berth. Madrigal averaged 16 points, 9 rebounds and almost 3 assists per game. Madrigal plans to walk-on at Cal Poly next year.
Two key players from Mission Prep received All-State accolades. Point guard Jenna Dunbar was named to the All-State First Team in Division 5. Dunbar averaged 14 points, 3 steals and almost 4 rebounds per game for the Royals.
Bri Harvey was named to the Second Team. She averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds per game for the Lady Royals, who finished runner-up in the CIF State Tournament.
