Man accused of assaulting sex offenders declared mentally incompetent by court doctors

The man accused of assaulting two sex offenders and then robbing a gas station in Grover Beach has been declared mentally incompetent by three court-appointed doctors.

David Griffin, 24, was arrested in April for allegedly robbing a Kautz Chevron gas station after assaulting two sex offenders who are listed on the Megan's Law website.

According to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office, all criminal proceedings have been suspended. Griffin's case has been turned over to Community Mental Health Services.
