Corona resident Saul Padilla, 47, was in court Friday facing charges of kidnapping at a preliminary hearing.
The charges stem from allegation of kidnapping and lewd act with a child after an arrest in Vandenberg Village back in January. After Friday's hearing Santa Barbara District Attorney, Joyce Dudley has now decided to charg Padilla with additional charges including: Lewd Act on a Child, Kidnapping, Forcible Digital Penetration, plus an allegation of Kidnapping for Sexual Purposes, Criminal Threats, Sending Harrnful Material to Seduce a Minor, Contacting a Minor with the Intent to Commit a Sex Offense, and Going to a Meeting with a Minor for
Lewd Purpose.
Padilla was arrested back in January after a routine traffic stop. That's when the deputy who pulled him over became suspicious of the minor who was in his car at the time. Padilla will be arraigned on all charges on August 15.
