A Santa Maria man is behind bars tonight, accused of making false bomb threats.

San Luis Obispo police say they received a 911 call around 10 a.m Thursday. The caller said he had planted a number of bombs at several schools in the city.

Dispatchers tracked the call to a pay phone. Officers then staked out other pay phones in that area. Forty minutes later, they say they caught 45-year-old Charles Rose making another threatening call.

After further investigation, officers found there were no bombs at any schools. Rose was booked into county jail on various charges including criminal threats.
