SANTA BARBARA - A man is in jail after Santa Barbara say they arrested him for attempted rape.

Police say a 33 year old woman called 911 on Sunday afternoon saying she had been attacked by 48 year old Francisco Alcoser of Santa Barbara.

When police arrived to the home on Indio Muerto Street in Santa Barbara, they learned the woman was a friend of Alcoser.

The woman told police she was visiting Alcoser after an invitation to come over to have drinks.

She says Alcoser made a sexual advance and after she refused, he attacked her.

Police say she fought Alcoser off, and was able to escape his home.

Officers found Alcoser walking on Indio Muerto Street, and arrested him.

They say Alcose admitted to fighting with the woman, but denies he was trying to have sex with her.

He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on $100,000 bail.
