A man from Santa Barbara is in jail after a three-hour standoff with police on Wednesday.
Santa Barbara Police say 28 year old Anthony Allen Perrie failed to come to court for a preliminary hearing for domestic battery charges.
Police say they found him standing on a corner at Indio Muerto and Salinas Streets, and when they tried to arrest him, they say he ran into his apartment on the 200 block of Salinas Street.
His mother came out of the home and told police Perrie had robbed her and threatened to kill her.
Perrie barricaded himself inside the apartment and after three hours, officers say they forced their way inside.
They say Perrie was in his bedroom where he had tied the door with ropes and blocked the entrance with furniture.
When he refused to surrender, police say they let a SBPD police dog named Hondo into the room. However, Hondo was unsuccessful in getting Perrie out of the room, so police say they then shot Perrie with a beanbag gun.
They say Perrie continued to resist arrest, but they were ultimately able to put him in handcuffs.
He now faces domestic battery, robbery, terrorist threats, and resisting arrest charges.
Perrie is booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
