A Santa Maria man is behind bars after being on the run for more than a month.

Santa Maria Police took 23-year-old Santiago Alvarez into custody for attempted murder, Sunday. They say he was one of a group of people who stabbed a victim on July 28th.

Days after the stabbing, they also arrested another suspect, Vino Martin.

Police believe the stabbing is gang-related.

Alvarez was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

Bail is set at $1-million dollars.
