Man arrested for robbery in Santa Maria

A Santa Maria man has been arrested after police say he physically beat a man for his money and personal belongings.

Santa Maria Police say Christian Rubalcava approached the victim in the 300 block of West Cypress before 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

They say he briefly spoke with the victim before beating him on the head.

Rubalcava took off with an undisclosed amount of money and stolen property.

He was soon found nearby and arrested.

The victim has minor injuries.
