An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly stealing a 7-Eleven employee's watch.

Police say Joseph Young entered the Pismo Beach convenience store and made a purchase around 7 a.m.

Young reportedly became irate during his interaction with a female store clerk. According to police, he jumped over the counter and assaulted the clerk when she tried to call for help. During the assault, Young took a watch off the clerk's wrist and fled the scene.

Police were able to locate Young on Five Cities Drive at Fourth Street, where he was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on robbery charges. Young is being held on $30,000 bail. Police later recovered the victim's watch.
