A stabbing in San Luis Obispo sends one man to the hospital and another behind bars.

Police and paramedics were called to a transient camp near the area of Tank Farm Road and the Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks around 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

That's where they found 55-year-old Donald Bruce of San Luis Obispo with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

Bruce was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers arrested 60-year-old David Allen Purdy, also from San Luis Obispo, for attempted murder after Bruce identified him as the attacker.

Purdy was booked into county jail on $500,000 bail.
