A suspected burglar was arrested Tuesday after a woman shared surveillance video of a vehicle break-in on Facebook.
Police say the break-in happened Monday outside of Cregor's, a market and deli on the 600 block of Spring Street in Paso Robles.
The burglar was caught on surveillance camera, hopping into the back of a pickup truck, then jumping out of the truck bed carrying a woman's purse.
The mother of the victim, a 19-year old employee at the store, posted the surveillance video on Facebook and it was shared hundreds of times.
By early Tuesday afternoon, Paso Robles Police said they had made an arrest in the case.
Officers arrested Joseph Oliver Godfrey, 29, at Cregor's after store employees called police to say he was inside the business.
The victim's mother told KSBY Godfrey was caught after a customer recognized him from the surveillance video. Police say Godfrey has a long criminal record. He now faces a charge of vehicle burglary.
Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to keep valuables out of sight.
