The man charged with kidnapping an Arroyo Grande High School student two years ago was sentenced Wednesday to 43 years and eight month in state prison.
Back in November of 2011, Fernando Frias, 25, pled no contest to kidnapping, attempted murder, sexual battery, criminal threats and admitted two sentencing enhancements of infliction of great bodily injury and use of a deadly weapon in the May 26, 2010 attack near the Fair Oaks Avenue Bridge. Frias also pled no contest to attempted kidnapping of another victim on that date, and admitted prior strike and prison convictions.
In a consolidated case out of Los Angeles dating back to June 2006, Frias will also serve time for pleading no contest to kidnapping, attempted murder, sexual battery, mayhem and criminal threats.
