Man dies after crashing stolen car in Lompoc

One person is dead after officers say he stole a car and then crashed it in Lompoc this morning.
It happened on Rucker Road just north of Purisima Road. The California Highway Patrol says a 28-year-old Lompoc man was driving a stolen green Honda Civic when he crashed into a residential fence and then a tree. He received major injuries and died at the scene. Officers say at this point they do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
