The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department says it does not suspect foul play in the death of a man on the Cierro Alto trail Saturday night.

Deputies were called to the area near TV Tower Road on the Cierro Alto peak side around 5:45 p.m. after some hikers heard a man collapse into some bushes. He had been hiking by himself. Because of the terrain, deputies called in a CHP helicopter to help get the man off the trail, and that is when they determined he had passed away.

At this time, deputies will only identify him as a San Luis Obispo resident in his fifties.
