San Luis Obispo Police Department was called out to French Hospital Thursday morning after a nurse contacted the police. When police arrived the nurse said an unknown male contacted the staff and said he had found an unconscious man inside his car that was parked downtown San Luis Obispo. When he tried to wake up the man he was unsuccessful. After arriving at the hospital the staff pulled the man from the vehicle and discovered he was dead.
The driver then fled the scene in his vehicle after being asked to stay by staff at the hospital. Based on the description that was giving to police by the hospital staff the police department believed the male to be David Harrell.

After an examination the deceased showed no signs of traumatic injury and has been identified as a known transient in the of San Luis Obispo. The Police Department is not releasing his name at this time.
