Man pleads no contest to raping woman at gunpoint

A man accused of kidnapping a woman at a gas station in Paso Robles and raping her pleaded no contest Friday to one count of forced oral copulation with the use of a deadly weapon and one count of rape with the use of a deadly weapon.

Edson Tapia faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on January 24.

Back in June, police said Tapia kidnapped the woman and forced her to drive to San Ardo, where he raped her at gunpoint.
