The Coast Guard rescues one person, after their fishing boat sinks off the coast Wednesday afternoon.
The Coast Guard says it responded to a report of a fishing vessel taking on water about 30 miles southwest of Morro Bay at about 12:15 p.m. The vessel sank shortly before Coast Guard crews from both Morro Bay and Los Angeles arrived at the scene.
The one person on board was safely rescued with no injuries. Debris from the sunken vessel is now being recovered.
Investigators are not sure what cause the boat to begin taking on water.
