The California Highway Patrol says a 26-year old man from Goleta suffered major injuries when he ran onto Highway 101 in Santa Barbara and was hit by a car Friday morning.
It happened just after 6:30 am, in the southbound lanes near Carrillo Street.
Officers say the car that struck Guilabaldo Julian was then rear-ended by another vehicle, which was also rear-ended.
The car in the middle sustained major damage and a passenger was taken to the hospital for a complaint of pain.
Julian was also taken to the hospital with major injuries.
