A Buellton man is in the hospital after he reportedly stabbed himself during run-in with Sheriff's deputies.

Residents say a man was driving around and harassing people in the 500 blk. of Central Ave. in Buellton at about 3:00p.m. Tuesday. When deputies found the suspect, 42-year-old Hector Diaz, they say he got out of his car and showed a knife. Then, he stabbed himself in the stomach.

Diaz was taken to the hospital. He'll be booked on various charges, including brandishing a deadly weapon and assaulting a police officer.
