SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The San Jose Mercury-News reports a man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of stabbing his father to death and wounding his mother.
The Mercury-News says officers were called just after 6 p.m. to a two-story home in an upscale neighborhood after getting a frantic phone call from someone inside, according to San Jose police.
Officers and emergency personnel arrived and performed CPR on the gravely wounded man, who was taken to Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. The female victim, who was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, is expected to survive.
Police say the young man believed to be the suspect was found by officers a few blocks from the home and arrested, police said.
The Mercury-News cited law-enforcement sources familiar with the investigation who confirmed that the suspect had attacked his father and mother.
