Man who killed his mother sentenced

A man from Los Osos who murdered his mother was sentenced Tuesday.
Michael Van Heuver was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
The judge said he'll likely spend his time at the California Mens' Colony.
He entered the no contest plea in February to second-degree murder.
Police say he assaulted his mother, Lisa, in April of last year.
She died a month later.
Van Heuver will also undergo substance abuse treatment, and receive mental health care.
