After playing a back-and-forth game for 4 hours and 40 minutes, the California Collegiate League game between the Blues and Foresters was suspended tied 9-9 after 12 innings late Wednesday night at Sinsheimer Stadium. A San Luis Obispo city ordinance mandated the stadium lights go out at 11 pm.
The game will be resumed at 6pm on Thursday night at Sinsheimer Stadium and be followed by the series finale between the two rivals, who are fighting it out for the league title.
The Blues overcame deficits of 3-0 in the first, 8-5 in the fifth and 9-6 in the eighth inning. Austin Grishman hit a two-out, game-tying single in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game 9-9 and send it to extra innings.
