This weekend, Americans in nearly one thousand communities, will lace up their shoes to walk for babies.
"March of Dimes" raises money for support programs that help mothers have healthy full-term babies. Organizers say more than half a million babies are born too soon each year. It's also a way for families who have lost a child, to honor their memory.
Here on the Central Coast, the event will take place Saturday morning on Ash and Elm Streets in Arroyo Grande. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the five-mile walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
