Marian Medical Center receives "Champion of the Community" award

A local hospital receives a top honor for its work to create a better community.

The California Parks and Recreation Society has awarded Marian Medical Center the "Champion of the Community" award for 2010. The award is given out each year to individuals and organizations to shed light on their work to create a better community.

The Society says Marian's dedication to health and wellness programs in the Santa Maria Valley. The organization says Marian delivers quality, affordable service to the community and has teamed up with other local programs to positively impact the community.
