Marriage may impact a woman's chances of surviving heart disease

Marriage may heal your heart in more than one way.

According to a new study, women who are married or living with a partner are 28 percent less likely to die of heart disease than unmarried women despite the fact that their risk of developing the disease is the same.

Researchers aren't exactly sure why marriage affects survival rates.

They say women might be encouraged by their partners to get medical treatment earlier, take their medications, and live a healthy lifestyle.
