Jan Marx will be the next Mayor of San Luis Obispo.

Marx leads by 174-votes and there are only ten ballots left to count. Marx has had a lead over Paul brown since election night November 2 but the county clerks office has been counting provisional ballots as well as verifying voter intent since.

County clerk Julie Rodewald says, "It's a long and tedious process. If a voter tore their ballot or spilled coffee over there ballot, or something else happened to it that those ballots are duplicated and counted as the voter intended them to be counted."

Marx will replace Dave Romero who's been the mayor for the past eight years. Marx, who currently serves on the city council credits her supporters for the win.
