A suspect is in custody after stabbing 14 people at a college outside of Houston, Texas.
The incident occurred at one of the Lone Star Community College campuses just before noon Tuesday.
Witnesses say a man wielding a knife or box cutter began attacking students.
"Students were leaving from class and going to class and the attack was at random and went building to building," said Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Thomas Gilliland.
The campus immediately went on lockdown.
Most of the injuries are described as stab wounds to cheeks, shoulders and necks.
At least four of the wounded suffered serious enough injuries to be medevaced to the hospital. Others were rushed by ambulances.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene.
"The guy that started it all, he was in their classroom and they said he had a box opener or something. Hurt two of the girls in that class," said student Jonathan Clayton.
Police say the suspect was taken into custody after being confronted by a student.
The suspect is described as a 21-year-old student of the Lone Star Community system.
