The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District will discuss the next step to improve the air quality of the Nipomo Mesa Wednesday morning.
The move follows the results of a recent air pollution study. It shows that ATV activity in the Oceano Dunes is a major contributing factor to the high levels of particulate matter there.
The board says it's not looking to shut down the Oceano Dunes recreation area, and plans to keep the community informed about its decisions.
