Community members are teeing it up for a good cause Monday.
Golf enthusiasts throughout the central coast attended the 24th Annual Leland Butch Simas and Felix Fly Memorial Golf Tournament at the Santa Maria Country Club.
The tournament is named in honor of Simas, a supporter of Marian Regional Medical Center and Felix Fly, a doctor who devoted his free time to the community until his death in 1991.
"We're planning on building new cardiac cath lab and I'm hoping we might be able to get some of the funds to kick off a fundraising drive for this year and next to get that started but it's the first tournament to support the new Marian Hospital," said Dr. Alex Harrison.
All proceeds from today's event will benefit programs and services of the Marian Regional Medical Center.
