Memorial to honor couple believed killed by Dorner

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - A couple believed to have been killed by ex-Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner will be memorialized at the Irvine university where the two met.

Concordia University spokeswoman Ann Ashmon says Monica Quan and her fiancé Keith Lawrence will be honored Sunday.

The event in the campus gymnasium is by the family's invitation only. The public can watch the event at separate venues on campus where it will be simulcast.

Quan and Lawrence were found shot in the parking structure of their Irvine condo on Feb. 3, setting off a massive manhunt for Dorner.

He threatened to kill officers and the families of those he blamed for ending his career. Quan's father represented Dorner in his failed appeal of his dismissal.

Quan and Lawrence met while playing basketball at Concordia.
