Staff members at Atascadero State Hospital are following some new procedures after a large-scale contraband search last month.
The hospital was put on lockdown July 27 as part of a planned drill. It took officers and staff 12 hours to search every patient in the one million- square foot facility.
Since that search employees have been going through metal detectors and bag checks when entering secure areas.
KSBY's Danielle Lerner is searching for answers today, to find out what contraband was found and why the procedures for employees have changed.
