(KCRA) A missing California couple has been found after being stranded by weather in the Sierra mountains.

Paula Lane and Roderick Clifton left Citrus Heights for Gardnerville, Nevada last Thursday.

Search crews looked for the couple for days, but didn't have any luck.

About 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Lane's brother found 46-year-old Paula along a road near Highway 88.

Paula Lane is now hospitalized at Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, Nev. -- listed in stable condition.

However, her boyfriend, Clifton, died, officials said. He was 44.

They got stuck in a snowdrift and Clifton went to get help for the pair.

Lane stayed in a Jeep Grand Cherokee alone for days, sustaining herself on tomatoes and eating snow to stay hydrated.
