Mission boys ranked 8th in final State poll of the season

Despite a disappointing finish to the postseason, the Mission Prep boys basketball team finished the season ranked 8th in Division V in Cal Hi Sports' final state poll of the season.

The Royals finished the year 24-9 under head coach Terrance Harris.

The Royals lost in the CIF Division 5A title game to Buckley 54-46. The Royals had a chance to capture the program's first CIF Southern Section title since 1989. They were ranked #1 in the Cal Hi Sports State poll prior to the title game.

Mission's season eventually ended in the quarterfinals of the CIF State Regionals.

Mission graduates four seniors, all of whom played significant roles for the Royals in Andy Rowley, Connor Woolpert, Tyler Baty and Michael Cardwell.

The Arroyo Grande (Division 2) and St. Joseph (Division 4) boys teams also earned recognition. They were not ranked in the top 15, but they were listed among "More Top Teams."
