The Mission Prep boys basketball came back from Southern California with an 80-44 victory over Wildwood in a CIF Division 5AA first round game on Wednesday night. The 19-7 Royals are the 3rd seed in the division and host 14th seeded Webb, which beat Kern Valley 55-46, on Friday night in the second round.
The Royals led 19-10 after the first quarter and 40-20 at the half.
Connor Woolpert led the Royals with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Quinton Adlesh added 15 points and Andy Rowley pitched in 10 points and 9 assists for the Royals.
Mission lost in the CIF semifinals last season.
