Andy Rowley scored off an inbound pass with ten seconds left, lifting Mission Prep to a 61-60 win over Righetti. The non-league win improves the Royals to 12-6 and drops the Warriors to 8-9.
Mission Prep was up 31-21 at the half before Righetti sophomore Cam Walker led the Warriors back, the Royals lead was 43-42 going into the fourth. Righetti took a 58-56 lead with a minute left on two Walker free throws before Rowley hit a deep three with 40 seconds left to make it 59-58 Royals. Junior post Francisco Platero scored inside with 20 seconds left to put the Warriors back up 60-59.
Mission Prep called a time out with 13 seconds left. The Royals in-bounded from underneath their own basket and Quinton Adlesh found Rowley coming off a screen for an easy layup with ten seconds to play. Righetti got the ball to senior point guard Marcus McMorris who drove the length of the court for a good shot attempt that rimmed out at the buzzer.
Rowley led the Royals with 20 points while Walker scored a game-high 24.
The Royals, who were playing without leading scorer Connor Woolpert for a third straight game because of a torn rotator cuff will play at Cabrillo (11-7) on Wednesday. The Warriors continue Pac-7 play on Wednesday when they host Atascadero. Righetti is in first place at 4-0 in League, Atascadero and St. Joseph are in second at 3-1.
