Santa Barbara County homeowners have a unique opportunity to take advantage of a rebate plan.
Flex Path, a new program presented by emPowerSBC, offers homeowners up to $1,000 in rebates. Homeowners must install qualifying energy saving features to be eligible.
"Windows, furnaces, and duct replacements are the most common," says contractor Joe Hansel.
According to emPowerSBC Program Manager Angie Hacker, most Santa Barbara County homes were built before the 1990s and are due for an update.
The updates can help homeowners reduce their utility bills and make their homes more comfortable in the long run.
The first step to participating in the Flex Path program is to get a home assessment. Experts at emPowerSBC offer green home counseling. They specialize in making homes more efficient and environmentally conscious.
The organization also offers a list of recommended contractors. Based on the homeowner's needs, emPowerSBC offers financing options through local banks.
Improvements can be big or small. For a list of energy saving updates and more information visit http://www.empowersbc.org/home.
