Eight Buddhist monks from Tibet are on the Central Coast to share their culture.
On Thursday, the monks were in Paso Robles to create a sand mandala.
Monks use dyed sand to create the sand mandalas, which are highly detailed paintings of geometric shapes and ancient spiritual symbols.
Once the painting is complete, the monks will ritualistically destroy it to symbolize their belief in the transitory nature of material life.
On Wednesday, the monks went to the Atascadero Library to show children a special dance and helped them color.
