Grain by grain, a group of Tibetan monks is painstakingly creating a painting out of sand.
The monks are paying a special visit to the Central Coast, sharing their culture with different communities. They've already visited Atascadero, Paso Robles, and San Luis Obispo, and now they're in Santa Maria.
The sand mandala they're creating is at Allan Hancock College.
The sand mandala is expected to be completed on Friday. You can check it out at Hancock's Art Gallery.
