More deaths may be linked to call girl

(WXIA) It's a case that involves sex, drugs and an Atlanta-area prostitute. Alix Tichelman is sitting in a California jail, charged with manslaughter for allegedly injecting a high-profile Google executive with heroin and then standing by as he overdosed.

Now, police in Milton, Georgia are saying they're re-evaluating the death of Tichelman's former boyfriend who died under similar circumstances.

Dean Riopelle's death in September 2013 was originally ruled a heroin overdose. Sound familiar? His girlfriend, Alix Tichelman, told police she found him lying on the floor. But after these latest developments, police are looking into her story again.

"Both subjects in these cases died of heroin overdoses," said Capt. Shawn McCarty with the Milton Police Department.

Riopelle died two months before Google executive Forrest Timothy Hayes in a strikingly similar way. TIchelman was at Riopelle's house when she says she found him on the floor.

"She had gotten out of the shower and found her boyfriend, Mr. Riopelle, lying on the floor, unresponsive," said McCarty. "At the time, we had no reason to believe it was anything other than an accidental overdose, and that's actually how it was ruled."
