The number of cancer survivors in the U.S. will top 18 million by 2022.
A new report from the American Association for Cancer Research tracked trends in survival rates. More than 13 million Americans had a history with cancer last year, which is an increase of 31% from the year before.
Experts say the bump will mostly be due to the aging population. The study is projecting that two-thirds of survivors will be more than 65 years old.
