The City of Morro Bay announced Monday Amy Christey has been appointed the city's new chief of police. Christey comes to Morro Bay with more than 20 years of experience with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department, where she is currently Lieutenant.
"I am extremely impressed with Amy's credentials and believe that we have chosen the very best candidate for our new Chief of Police," said City Manager Andrea Lueker.
Christey will be officially sworn in at the November 13 city council meeting.
