Morro Bay City Council holding another closed session meeting

The Morro Bay City Council meeting is holding a closed session meeting Monday to review the contract of City Attorney Robert Schultz. The meeting starts at 3:00 pm at the Morro Bay Veteran's Hall. The public will have a chance to make comments before the council goes into closed session. The meeting comes more than a month after Mayor Jamie Irons called a closed session meeting to discuss some type of disciplinary action against both Schultz and City Manager Andrea Leuker. A huge crowd turned out to support the two, and public comment lasted for hours. After the city council finally went into closed session, it was announced that no action had been taken against Schultz or Leuker. Since then, Mayor Irons has obtained attorney Steve Simas of Simas and Associates to provide legal counsel for the city on personnel matters involving Schultz and Leuker. They mayor has not given any reason for why the council would want to fire or discipline the city attorney and manager.
